Volcano Deity

Words by Spell. I always loved that there was a Volcano Goddess called Pele. As an angsty teenager I envisioned boys being sacrificed to her while listening to Tori Amos’ 1996 Album ‘Boys for Pele’. When I saw Brendan Foster’s ode to fashion goddess meets island getaway with muse Gabrielle Sullivan rolling on that white sand with flecks of black volcanic memory through it, it brought me back there once again.

Suburban Jungle

Worth the wait. This shoot was quite some time in planning. With both our busy schedules and the beach temperatures decreasing each day it was hard to co-ordinate a shoot in the South West. It all came together in a couple of days when Gabrielle managed to find a new and quite unique location closer to her home. Art director. I haven’t photographed someone so easy to work with straight from the get go. To her credit she played stylist, location scout and model impeccably. The Alchemist

Something different.  This shoot I decided to take a different approach and shoot half on location, half down the beach and incorporate a makeup artist for the first time. A local was nice enough to let us use his house for the location and we had a beautiful car to get there. Lingerie and bathers. Lingerie in the ocean seemed a little unnatural to me but I feel like it worked out. Yasmin did a fantastic job and was a pleasure to work with. Summer Vibes

It’s a long walk. The bay I wanted to shoot at is really secluded and literally a 2km walk scaling some…well minor cliffs. I was 99% sure Chrissie wouldn’t be happy about doing it. Turns out I was wrong and she’s an absolute champ. I was hoping the shoot would turn out more like an adventure than a photoshoot and I think it did. Good taste in music. After two half days spent together I found out that she has great taste in music and ended up giving her some new stuff I had, stuff we listened to on the way to shooting.
